Scroll down and take a look at the various virtual and physical comps we have running. We know you’ll be thrilled at the fun and inclusivity you find.

APP-BASED TOURNAMENTS

“LIKE HUNTING POKEMONS… BUT FISHING!”

FisherQuest is for everyone. Think of it as a treasure hunt, because your fishing moments = treasured memories.

All you have to do is get to know your Challenge List and collect those moments through your fishing year! [HINT]

So, study your challenge list (you can download it from the link below if you like… a laminated copy in your tackle box is a good idea… with a black marker to fill the dots as you “nail your catch”), take your phone with you when you do ANYTHING fishy and start competing! You’ll soon discover more water than you ever knew existed. Happy Hunting!

“EVERYONE’S A WINNER BABY… THAT’S THE TRUTH”

Don’t let the concept of a League Ladder intimidate you. Ours is fished in flat waters, meaning the “playing field” is level.

Our unique scoring system rewards every “legal” fish (or where there is no minimum size limit, then we specify a easily catchable one), with scoring increments to our nominated trophy size of that species. It’s all in our special algorithm designed to keep you cheering, high-fiving and motivated.

As an example, on our ladder a 71cm flathead would earn 59 points, but would be easily beaten by a 40cm (fork length) yellowfin whiting, worth a cool 87 points! A 90 cm (fork length) snapper would be worth 109 points, just pipping a 65cm (fork length) Australian salmon, worth 100 points… aren’t you glad the algorithm does the math?

“SOME OF US DO BETTER IN SHORT BURSTS”

If Christmas is too far away (PLEASE… slow that sleigh down!) to keep you motivated, this Sprint is for YOU!

BONUS: You don’t have to do anything different! You simply need to lodge catches to the League Ladder and we isolate out the monthly scores, starting from zero each time!

[HINT]

So, if you have a month or two of no fishing at all, then binge on an epic month, you are in with a chance of taking out that month’s Sprint! Now THAT will get you motivated, right?!

Shimano Minnows Official Junior Gauntlet Series

The Shimano Minnows Official Junior Gauntlet Series is more than a fishing comp — it’s a nationwide challenge where junior anglers help their state’s A-Team climb the leaderboard in Australia’s Reel Gauntlet. And the best part? Entry is FREE for kids when their family joins the League.

What’s Up for Grabs?

  • Monthly Shimano rod & reel combos for national top scorer
  • Surprise monthly Shimano prize packs for each state champion
  • Points contribute to your state’s overall Gauntlet score!

How to Get Started

Step 1:  Join WRFL as a Family Member ($50/year)
Your Family Membership includes 1x Female Executive (voting) Membership + a $25 supportive (non-voting) membership that entitles the bearer to $25 members discount when joining their A-Team in the Reel Gauntlet (yep… money back!) — kids fish free!

Step 2: Download the WRFL App on each child’s phone (iPhone or Android). Alternatively, parents can choose to login separately at the end of each fishing day to upload each child’s catches to their individual accounts… see next.

Step 3: Create an account for each child

Each kid needs their own email address and login.

Step 4: Log catches in the “Shimano Minnows” category!
