Kendl is a self-proclaimed fishoholic from Coffs Harbour. She’s been fishing all her life, starting out in the estuaries as a kid with her father.

As a woman, Kendl’s fishing journey steered a course towards a passion for offshore snapper and game fishing, leading her to become a pivotal player in the Coffs Habour Game Fishing Club, actively pushing the tide to achieve her dreams.

“I want to achieve a world where fishing is an inclusive family activity rather than a sport women feel intimidated to break into. I want to feel like all women are taken seriously as equal anglers and welcomed into the community.”

Although her particular penchant is for snapper, her father’s anecdotes and reveries about his barra trips with mates have always made Kendl just a little bit curious… and more than a tad jealous! So this year, she jumped at the opportunity to join the first WRFL team to fish the Barra Nationals on the mighty Daly River in the Top End!
